About Us
Guest Quarters and Amenities
Our home has a 30 square meter guest quarters with a king bed, single bed, sofa/bed, air conditioning, flat screen tv, desk, private fish pond with waterfall, and a private roof deck with views of the ocean, sunrise and sunset. We have a swimming pool and deck, with direct access to the rock beach and ocean. Since we live on the edge of the sea, you are welcome to walk out of your room and go snorkeling, visit caves along the beach, and observe sea turtles.
Environs
Our home is in a quiet area of the countryside so simply relaxing and soaking up the sun or stars and listening to the crickets and waves can be a regular past time. We can introduce you to our local filipino neighbors and a taste of rural filipino living. Within the compound we have a bevy of rabbits wandering the grounds, a couple of cats, and some egg laying chickens.
Location
We are located in Tag-ibo Barangay, where within a few hundred meters walking distance there are local filipino stores and eateries. The municipality of San Juan, with its greater tourist offerings of restaurants, bars and clubs, is a couple of kilometers away. You reach our home by walking or riding a motorbike down a 150 kilometer path to our gated compound from the Siquijor circumference highway.
Callachuchi Explained
The Callachuchi flower provides the logo and name for the Callachuchi Homestay. Several Callachuchi plants thrive in the family compound. The first two rabbits that started our small rabbit colony were also named Calla and Chuchi. The plant is known in the islands for its natural beauty and hardiness, its medicinal properties, and its use at vigils.
Important Homestay Info
Our premises are totally solar powered. Therefore:
- We are unable to provide on demand water heating for your shower. The temperature of the water ranges from hot during the day to cool at night.
- Our solar system allows us to set the room's air conditioning throughout the day and night at a temperature of 28 degrees C. We also have fans. If you need much lower temperatures than this in the evening, we suggest finding other quarters.

Once the reservation is made we will send you more detailed information regarding directions to our home. We live in Tag-ibo Barangay, a few kilometers outside of San Juan municipality. We are about a half hour drive from the Siquijor ferry and can arrange transportation from there if you choose.
