Your Hosts

Our family is pleased to provide a homestay to share with others the beauty and serenity of living oceanside on Siquijor Island. Our family and staff also reside in the compound.

Our home is in a quiet area of the countryside so simply relaxing and soaking up the sun or stars and listening to the crickets and waves can be a regular past time. We can introduce you to our local filipino neighbors and a taste of rural filipino living. Within the compound we have a bevy of rabbits wandering the grounds, a couple of cats, and some egg laying chickens.

Environs

We are located in Tag-ibo Barangay, where within a few hundred meters walking distance there are local filipino stores and eateries. The municipality of San Juan, with its greater tourist offerings of restaurants, bars and clubs, is five kilometers away. Lugnason Falls, the Enchanted Balete Tree, and Pitogo Cliff are all within a few kilometers of the homestay.

The Callachuchi flower provides the logo and name for the Callachuchi Homestay. Several Callachuchi plants thrive in the family compound. The plant is known in the islands for its natural beauty and hardiness, its medicinal properties, and its use at vigils.

Callachuchi Explained

Location

The Callachuchi Homestay is located in Barangay Tag-ibo a few kilometers past the town of San Juan. When you make your reservations we will send you specific directions on how to reach our property. You will take a path for a 150 meters from the highway towards the ocean. Walking or motor scooters can be used on the path but four wheel vehicles must be parked at the highway. We have covered parking for motor scooters at the homestay and often have a scooter for rent.
